Jonathan Stewart!

I am such a nerd. I was about as start struck as they come. I had NO idea that meeting someone that is famous would be so intimidating. I literally had nothing to say that was meaningful. I spent more time trying to decide what to say than actually talking to him. So I just listened, which was probably best anyway. I would hate to babble off some football stuff and only to realize I have no idea what I am talking about.

However, even if this had been the case, I doubt he would have made me feel dumb. Jonathan Stewart was so nice. He was humble and he actually acted like he was happy to be there. He asked Josh lots of questions and he made sure to talk to every kid that came up to him. He signed about 100 autographs and he took more pictures than I would have wanted to!
Zack Pelt was in awe of him and it was really cute to watch him sit and stare, because honestly, I was pretty much doing the same thing that Zack was. We were both just staring and smiling!

We really appreciate him coming out and being so nice as to come talk to our athletes. He did a fantastic job. He talked about being Extraordinary- emphasizing the EXTRA part. I video taped most of his speech. My arms kept getting tired, so I have to take a break every now and then, but I got most of it!!

Wednesday Morning Spring Ball Practice!

I took the boys to today's practice and I have to say that standing there watching the boys, hell I was even fired up! It was high tempo, high energy, lots of emotion and a whole lot of hollering! Both offense and defense had a great practice. It was fun and made me just frustrated with the fact that there is still 3 months, 1 week and 1 day left before the first game. I mean this is just mean and its such a freaking tease!!
However, I am excited about Friday and Saturday. The dinner will be a lot of fun. The parents will get to meet all of our new coaches and their families and we get to meet Jonathan Stewart which I am PUMPED about. In fact, I am so excited that I may just glue myself to him the entire night. I mean we draft this guy in our Fantasy League for crying out loud! I am so excited and I can't wait to take a picture with him. I will definitely be face booking THAT.

So, here I am getting excited about the running back, so lets get back to the Raider business. We are having a lot of good practices with lots of improvements all the way around. We still have a ways to go, but we are getting there!

Here are some video and pictures for your enjoyment.

The second to last video is hilarious! Judson I guess gets bored and in the middle of Josh's speech, he is turning around giving me a thumbs down. I am glad none of the players could see him because I am sure he would have distracted them, which would anger Josh I am sure of it! ha

Spring Ball!

2010 Spring Ball is off to a great start!

Last Wednesday was the first practice and GUESS WHO WAS THERE..... GREG DAVIS! How awesome is THAT? Josh was pretty fired up. SO far we have had Texas, Baylor, TCU, Abilene and a few other recruiters. Pretty cool I think!

A couple of weeks ago, I tried to call Josh on his cell, all of the sudden, he answers, then IMMEDIATELY hangs up. I was not the happy Coaches Wife getting hung up on. Thirty minutes later Josh calls me back and said that as he was answering my call that the University of Texas popped up on his caller ID and of course, he thought that was MORE important than talking to me. I GUESS I will allow that one to slide- just this once. It was Greg Davis. I asked him if he offered Josh a job, Josh said no. DANG IT! HA

Anyhow, I was able to make it out the practice on Friday morning. It was hard getting my butt out of bed that early and I definitely looked like I rolled straight out of bed, but it was fun and of course- I took lots of video and pictures for you to see! (there is a sideshow about this post with all the pictures) Now that i know how to do the sideshows, I decided this was best!

I have a TON of video, but apparently I have to be very choosy on the ones that I post because we don't want our enemies gaining any leverage:) ha

I wanna be #10 Ed Butts!

Ok, so truthfully this happened several weeks ago, but since I have been slacking in the blog department, I decided to go ahead and put it up. I put this on my personal blog, but since it pertained to some of OUR Raiders, I decided to also put it on here as I thought it might make someone smile.

A few weeks ago, I was working on a project upstairs and the boys were downstairs- SCREAMING at each other. Judson was so mad he was crying and they were both yelling, "I wanna be #10 Ed Butts, No I want to, NO I get to be him"

(By the way, #10 Ed Butts is a football player, and also one of our best baseball players)

So I come down and ask what the problem is and I notice that they have their bats and a ball in the living room (a big no no:).

Anyway Judson just looks at Jace and then YELLS "I wanna be #10 Ed Butts but Jace won't LET me",

Finally Jace signs and goes "FINE Judson, you can be #10 Ed Butts, BUT I get to be #9 Charlie Stewart- cuz he's TALLER"

And all was good. They were both Raider baseball players and were happy little players.

Its so funny because the boys really are starting to get to know the players and they pretty much always use the numbers in front of their names....

I will be updating about Spring Ball on Sunday!
We're getting closer and closer! SO excited!
